Four years ago, this kettle hole pond was covered in Phragmites. We removed the Phragmites and planted native wetland plants. Now it is home to a myriad of native plants and animals.
Lake Marion
For over fifteen years we have been working on the wetlands around Lake Marion in Suffolk County.
Using mechanical means only, we have helped transform these wetlands from a monoculture of invasive Phragmites australis to a wetland ecosystem that is rich in native plant and animal species.
